BARP, Vocal. Performed release eval per Dr. G notes on 10/17 regarding extended care. Based on evaluation, I feel this birds flight is suitable for release. Opted not to grab and force feed to reduce stress pending release arrangement with finders. Water changed, force feed and FIC combined on food brick near water dish.

Procedure - Wound debridement

Surgery time - 10 minutes

Scrubbed and flushed wound. The scab easily exfoliated, leaving
a 6-7 mm defect into the muscle. There is also a relatively deep
defect into the muscle with some dark necrotic tissue on the
edges. Debrided the muscle with CTA and flushed well. Closed
muscle in a single horizontal suture w/ 4-0 PDS. Opposed skin
edges with 2 horizontal mattress sutures in 4-0 PDS. Left wound
uncovered and applied Silver Gel. Did well under anesthesia and
recovered quickly.

BAR, standing in box. Noted blood transfer on left side of chest. No fractures palpated. Found two small puncture wounds on left side of chest. Lots of blood. Scrubbed and flushed wounds. Covered with silver gel, left open. Rads were completed under 3.5%- 2.5% ISO via mask. NSF. Finished treatment and placed in R19.
